How to Upload an ACT Database to RTG's Hosting Service via FTP

  • Login to your ACT! Portal account at https://www.actcloudportal.com.
  • Once logged in you should see your main dashboard. Press the following icon  on the upper right corner of the page.
  • You will now need to select to upload as a Production Database and then click the next option.
  • Select your contract and then select the next option.
  • Next screen you will need to fill out the admin email address for the account, along with the version of ACT! you will be uploading. Always choose Traditional Sync Master/Publisher unless otherwise noted from the RTG Staff. Now click the next option.
  • Choose the desired database name and display name, remember to follow the rules for naming databases. Click the next option.
  • Click the radio button for "Upload Via FTP (FTP Program required). Click Next
  • If you haven't already, download the free FTP client called "FileZilla". It can be found at https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client Download and run the installer, then open the program.)
  • In FileZilla, under "Host" type: DBFTP.actcloudportal.com
  • Under "Username" type: newdb
  • The password for FTP access will be given to you during the FTP upload portion of the DB creation wizard.
  • Under "Port" type: 21
  • Click the Quickconnect button. You may click yes if prompted to remember the host for future uploads.
  • In the section "Local site", browse to the .zip file which contains your valid ACT! backup
  • Double click on the file to transfer it to RTG's servers. Once the transfer is complete and you see the file listed on the "Remote site" side, you may close FileZilla
  • Type the exact file name of the .zip you've uploaded in the field in ACT! Cloud Portal. Click Submit.
  • You can now click finish once complete.
